On February 23, 1997, a small group of believers met together sensing they were led by the Holy Spirit to start a church. They rented the Winfield Municipal Building in Cabot, PA on Sunday mornings and evenings for services, with Ray Lesseski as their founding pastor.
This church was started with 22 charter members, and the congregation known as the Bethel Bible Baptist Church was born. Of these members, five are still with us today.
Prayer meetings were held in homes until a church building could be found. They met in the municipal building until September 3, 1999. They prayed for a building of their own, and when Shadyside Baptist Church of Worthington, PA dissolved, the remaining members of that congregation gave their building to Bethel. Some of the members of that church remained with us, and some new members were added. Some have gone home to be with the Lord, others have left to serve the Lord elsewhere.
The Lord has been faithful in keeping us going on to serve Him. He has blessed us financially that we could support missionaries all over the world, and on December 4, 2011 the church made a smooth transition from the ministry of Pastor Lesseski to the new Pastor, Nathan Bramlet.
It is our prayer that we continue to serve the Lord faithfully as we have done these past 20 years until He returns to take His Church home, that we can reach the lost for Him, be faithful in giving out the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, and bring glory to Him.
